King's Coronation
Recently, we marked the historical occasion of His Royal Highness King Charles III’s Coronation. There was a sea of red, white and blue in the corridors of JPS and every child arrived in outfits fit for the royal occasion. We were welcomed into school by our incredible children performing suitable tracks in our Coronation Showtime – it was lovely to see the pride our children showed for their friends’ talents. There was so much to celebrate and, throughout the day, all classes took part in a variety of activities. The children had a fabulous royal day, creating their own crowns, playing traditional party games, scavenger hunting with corgis and attempting to pin the crown on the King! Throughout the day, each class took part in our corridor street party, enjoying the long tables, bunting and sharing time with friends. It is such a tradition in the UK and we were delighted our children were able to take part. Our staff were also invited to produce goodies for a Great JPS British Bake-Off, a competition in which people bake savoury pies or sweet cakes. A day like this is a day in history and we wanted our JPS children to remember what they did for the King’s Coronation.
